ODENTON, MARYLAND
Located Just 32 miles from Washington D.C., 19 miles from Baltimore, Maryland, and 15 miles from the city of Annapolis, Odenton, is a textbook example of a Maryland bedroom community. The majority of the residents of Odenton are employed by neighboring Fort Meade Military Base and NASA HQ, with the amenities here mostly catering to that population's needs. Along with nearby Gambrills and Crofton, Odenton offers a variety of home options for all needs, from families to individuals. However, this quiet city favors family-friendly living with an emphasis on the great outdoors.

Piney Orchard Nature Preserve
The Piney Orchard Nature Preserve is unlike any other place in Anne Arundel County and is located (partially) in Odenton. A part of the Little Patuxent River, the 100-acre Preserve, includes wetlands, woodlands, open grassy areas, sandy dry stream beds, and freshwater ponds. Here, you can see numerously threatened and endangered species within. Approximately 5 miles of walking trails and paved bike trails provide access to the Preserve and connect with the many paved paths within the residential community of Piney Orchard.
The Preserve is the result of wetland restoration efforts that began in 1987, and the Preserve was opened to the public in 1996 and is a part of the American Discovery Trail. The trail stretches from the Atlantic Ocean at Cape Henlopen State Park in Delaware, to the Pacific Ocean at Point Reyes National Seashore near San Francisco, CA.
